Akindo Sushiro began offering three limited-edition sweets supervised by Godiva starting July 9. From August 6, they will add a fourth item. This collaboration marks a first for the KAITEN SUSHI (conveyor belt sushi) industry. With side menu items like sweets and noodles performing well in addition to sushi, the company aims to further boost sales.
According to the company’s public relations, Godiva was chosen because it’s one of the companies customers frequently request collaborations with. The project came together when Sushiro reached out to Godiva. Each dessert is carefully balanced with a variety of ingredients to ensure the rich chocolate flavors are enjoyable even after eating sushi.
The “Orange Chocolate Nuts Parfait” is limited to 450,000 servings and priced from 450 yen (tax included). It features chocolate ice cream and mousse as bases, layered with two kinds of sauces—orange and chocolate—as well as orange slices and other ingredients.
The “Orange-Scented Chocolate Mousse Tart” is limited to 270,000 servings and priced from 390 yen (tax included). It’s characterized by a smooth chocolate mousse and a rich ganache layer atop a cocoa cookie crust.
The “Rich Chocolate Catalana” is a Godiva-supervised version of Sushiro’s most popular dessert, the “Catalana Ice Brulee.” Made with high-cacao chocolate, it delivers a rich taste from the very first bite. After ordering, it’s torched with a burner to caramelize the surface, providing a satisfyingly crispy texture.
Launching on August 6, the “Chocolate Brulee Rare Cheesecake” is limited to 390,000 servings and priced from 380 yen (tax included). It is torched just before serving to create a crisp top layer.
Prices vary by location.
