FUJI OIL has released a powder type that can be stored at room temperature from the “MIRA-Dashi” series, a plant-based broth (dashi) that does not use animal ingredients or flavors.
The newly released “MIRA-Dashi C820P” is a powder type of the “MIRA-Dashi C800”, which is a plain hot water type. It can be distributed and stored at room temperature and has an expiration date of 360 days. Not only domestically but also overseas export will further expand. The package is a 10kg bag.
FUJI OIL aims to propose new food value with the group’s vision of “Together with our stakeholders, we will co-create a sustainable future for food, based on plant-based ingredients that are both delicious and healthy.” The technology brand “MIRACORE”, which was born from the fusion of soy protein and fat technology, achieves the satisfaction and flavor unique to animal products by using only plant-based ingredients. The plant-based dashi “MIRA-Dashi” series offers five types of chicken, beef, plain hot water, bonito, and shellfish. It is used in a wide range of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes, including ramen, and is being adopted in restaurants and hotels to capture the growing inbound demand.
As ramen becomes more popular overseas, attention is increasing to the plant-based “MIRA-Dashi”, but distribution and storage in the chilled temperature zone have been an issue to be addressed.
With the addition of a new powder type, the overseas expansion of plant-based dashi will be promoted. By developing products that make use of knowledge of plant-based materials, the company is focusing on not only catering to inbound demand, but also overseas export of Japanese food culture such as ramen.
