Daisho began selling three new shabu-shabu seasonings for grocery sections on September 1 as part of its 2025 autumn and winter lineup. The company is offering two dipping sauces and one soup.
This time, Daisho developed new shabu-shabu dipping sauces inspired by Chinese hot pot and Tom Yum Kung soup. The newly launched products—“Mala Hot Pot–Style Shabu-Shabu Dipping Sauce” and “Tom Yum Kung–Style Shabu-Shabu Dipping Sauce” (photo)—are targeted mainly at consumers in their 20s to 40s who enjoy Asian and ethnic cuisine.
“Mala Hot Pot–Style Shabu-Shabu Dipping Sauce” combines the savory flavor of pork with the rich taste of doubanjiang, spiced with chili and Sichuan pepper, and enhanced with the aromatic notes of cumin, star anise, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.
“Tom Yum Kung–Style Shabu-Shabu Dipping Sauce” features the umami of shrimp, accented by the heat of red chili pepper and the refreshing aroma of lemon juice. Both sauces come in 230g bottles and are priced at 291 yen (SRP, tax included).
The company has also renewed the packaging of “Kodoku no Gurume: Goro Inogashira’s Seafood Tonkotsu Shabu-Shabu Hot Pot Soup.” This concentrated shabu-shabu soup features the richness of tonkotsu balanced by the mellow umami of sun-dried salt and the flavor of dried sardines and sea bream broth. Originally sold as a limited-time collaboration product in FY2024, it is now being reintroduced with a new package design. The product comes in a 700g pouch and is priced at 415 yen (SRP, tax included).
