Kewpie to Establish Sales Company in India to Meet Diversifying Local Dietary Needs

Kewpie will establish a local subsidiary in September to serve as its sales base in India. The company will be headquartered in the state of Haryana and is scheduled to begin sales operations in 2027 or later.

For the Indian market, which has the world’s largest population and continues to experience economic growth, the company will primarily sell mayonnaise and dressings manufactured by its group companies in the Asia-Pacific region. To meet vegetarian demand, it is also considering introducing “GREEN KEWPIE,” a brand that uses plant-based ingredients.

As India’s middle-income population expands, diets are becoming more diverse, and the market for mayonnaise and dressings is growing. In addition to use in hamburgers and sandwiches, there is strong local demand for these products as dipping sauces. Anticipating continued growth in demand for mayonnaise and dressings, the company decided to establish a local subsidiary. Initially, it plans to focus sales on major metropolitan areas where dietary diversification is particularly pronounced.
