Ajikan has launched “Delicious Whole Burdock Tea, Including the Skin,” powdered burdock tea in stick form. The company sells domestically roasted burdock tea, the No. 1-selling product in the health tea market for 13 consecutive years. This time, it has turned its roasted burdock into powder. Dissolving one stick (2.2 g) in water or hot water makes 200–250 ml of burdock tea.
The product is also proposed for use in takikomi rice, as an ice cream topping, and in lattes. It will be sold at mass retailers nationwide.
The company says it wants the product to be used by people who would like to try burdock tea and by those who want to mix it into a reusable bottle and carry it with them. The product contains 10 sticks and has a suggested retail price of 540 yen including tax.
At the same time, the company launched the Food with Functional Claims product “Dr. Nagumo’s Inulin Green Juice W” for drugstores. It contains the fermentable dietary fiber inulin and carries claims for improving bowel movements and lowering blood triglyceride levels. It contains 30 sticks of 5 g each and is priced at 1,620 yen including tax.
