Kagome Changes Ketchup Design as Middle East Tensions Worsen Ink Supply and Demand

As tensions in the Middle East continue, changes in the supply-and-demand situation for inks and coatings have also affected the white ink used on the packaging of “Kagome Tomato Ketchup.”

The white ink used as a base layer for package printing is limited to only certain types that can be used, due to printability requirements, making substitution difficult. Therefore, for the time being, Kagome will switch to a transparent design with reduced printing on the outer packaging.

The affected products are Kagome Tomato Ketchup in 500 g, 300 g, and 180 g sizes. The change will be made sequentially from around late May. The company said there will be no changes to the tube container or to the quality of the contents.
