Kirin Beer to Raise Prices of Gas Cylinders for Draft Beer from October, Its Second Increase Following April

Kirin Beer will raise prices for carbon dioxide gas cylinders used for keg draft beer at foodservice establishments from October 1. This will be the second increase this year, following one in April.

The reason is that, in line with increases in suppliers’ manufacturing and logistics costs, procurement costs related to carbon dioxide have continued to rise, including not only the gas itself but also eye valves and pressure-resistance inspection expenses.

In addition, a certain number of establishments have used the gas cylinders for purposes other than beer servers, and supply has long been unstable. The company said it decided on the price revision in an effort to achieve stable supply.
