Suigei Shuzo has released “Suigei Junmai Daiginjo DAITO 2025,” an ultra-premium sake celebrating its 10th anniversary.
“DAITO” has been commercialized over the years featuring bottle designs created in collaboration with numerous artists. This year, under the theme of “ORIGIN,” the design features a dragon based on the original artwork of woodblock print artist Tomikichiro Tokuriki (1902–2000).
The company describes “DAITO” as “the pinnacle of Junmai Daiginjo, embodying Suigei’s philosophy of being a premium sake that enriches food culture.” It is brewed using “Special-A” (Tokujo) Yamada Nishiki rice from Kato City, Hyogo Prefecture, with a rice polishing ratio of 30%. The price is 22,000 yen including tax for a 720ml bottle.
Furthermore, the product was recently certified as an official sake recognized by the 10th-generation head of the Sakamoto family, the lineage of Sakamoto Ryoma.
