Monte Bussan will begin handling the Italian beers “Castello” and “Dolomiti” from Villa Castello in Japan starting in February. Both brands are making their Japan debut with this launch.
Located in northeastern Italy, south of the Dolomiti Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site, Castello was founded in 1997 and is a brewery with 100% Italian capital. In 2006, it acquired a brewery in the area with nearly 130 years of history, and has been producing carefully crafted beers using pure snowmelt water and Italian malt.
From “Castello,” three products are being introduced: “Lager,” with a well-balanced, fresh taste; “Rossa,” made with roasted malt; and “Low,” with an alcohol content of 3.5% and a smooth drinking feel.
“Dolomiti” makes the most of the deliciousness of the high-quality water nurtured by the valley, harmonizing in a well-balanced way the flavor of Italian malt, including malt from the Dolomiti area, and carefully selected hops. The lineup includes three products: the mellow and elegant “Pilsner,” “Rossa,” which has notes of caramel and berries, and “Doppio Malto,” with an alcohol content of 8.0% and made generously with malt.
At a presentation on January 20, Akiko Morimoto, president of Monte Bussan, promoted the products, saying, “Castello makes beer using the technology of a historic brewery and the pure water of the Dolomiti Valley. We would like you to enjoy Castello, which pursues simplicity and accompanies everyday life, and Dolomiti, which lets you enjoy the flavor of carefully selected hops.”
