Itochu Foods to Sell Products from World-Leading Major Winery, Australia’s Vinarchy, in Japan

Itochu Corporation has signed an import and sales agency agreement with Australia’s representative winery, “Vinarchy,” for the Japanese market. Starting in January, Itochu Corporation will begin importing Vinarchy products, with Itochu Foods handling their sales in Japan.

Vinarchy was established in 2025 through the merger of Accolade Wines and Pernod Ricard Winemakers, making it one of the world’s largest wine companies by scale. With annual net sales exceeding 1.5 billion AUD, it positions itself as a world-class wine specialist committed to the mission of “redefining wine.”

Its features include sustainable production systems in collaboration with local farmers and distinctive winemaking leveraging diverse varieties. Under its umbrella are internationally renowned brands such as “Jacob’s Creek” (a global top-10 brand) and “Hardys” (Australia’s No. 2 domestic brand).

Itochu Foods will sell Vinarchy products in the Japanese market, including “Jacob’s Creek,” “Hardys,” “GEORGE WYNDHAM,” “BRANCOTT ESTATE,” “ST. HUGO,” “CHURCH ROAD,” and “CAMPO VIEJO.”

Japan’s wine market continues to show steady growth. The market size stood at approximately 4.7 trillion yen in 2024, with projections reaching 7.6 trillion yen by 2033.

Going forward, as the Itochu Group, it plans to gradually roll out Vinarchy wines nationwide to department stores, mass retailers, convenience stores, and restaurants. “We aim to promote sustainable wine culture, revitalize the market through high-value-added products, and advance new lifestyle proposals centered on wine.”
